If a serve hits the net but still makes it into the service box, is it a let or fault? My friend and I debated this - what exactly does the rulebook say?
Serve Hits Net and Lands In - Legal or Fault?
padelfan According to Rule 12, Section 1a - if a served ball hits the net but still lands inside the service box, it is considered a legal serve and the point should continue. The rules clearly state "The service is correct if after hitting the net the ball bounces within the service area." So there is no fault or let to be played if the net is hit as long as it lands in the service zone. It is a valid serve.

According to the official rules, if a serve hits the net but still lands in the service box, it is considered a let, and the server gets to retake the serve without any penalty. The ball must touch the net and still land in the correct service box for it to be called a let.
